Sculptures
About stone:
The stone that I use for my small to mid-size carvings and sculpture is
primarily soapstone and alabaster for the ease in working and finishing.
Over the years I have used a combination of soapstone from Brazil, British
Columbia, and Northern Washington. I have also used Indiana limestone,
carrera marble, nelson georgia marble, Italian Portuguese alabaster, and
whalebone from the Canadian western Arctic.
For the larger scale works I use limestone, marble, and serpentine-like
carving stone. Many of the mid-size stone sculptures have been used as
models for limited edition bronze castings and one of a kind bronze
monuments.
